More than five decades of training family physicians.

In the early 1950s, San Bernardino County Medical Center formalized its commitment to primary care through a general practice residency. The Family Medicine Residency earned accreditation in 1969, and in 1999, the program moved with the hospital to today’s Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

That history still shapes how we train today.

ARMC residents train across hospital, clinic, maternity, and community settings—caring for diverse and medically complex patients while gaining the skills and independence to practice family medicine in nearly any setting. Training is hands-on, responsibility grows with experience, and our curriculum evolves with the needs of our patients and residents.

Broad-spectrum family medicine is what we do.
